Couple

Overheard in our house, 02 May.

B: I have a couple of questions for you.
Ryn: Ok...
B asks two questions, Ryn responds.
Ryn *stares at B*
B: What?
Ryn: What's the third question?
B: I said "a couple", that requires two.
Ryn: Ahh. I always screw myself up with this. When I was little I was convinced that because few rhymes with two, they were connected.  And a couple was always three or more in my head.
B: You had poly tendencies from a young age, didn't you?
Ryn (distractedly): Yeah.
B: Hmm
Ryn: What? Oh. No, "yeah" still stands.
